Friday 27 to Sunday 29 August 2027
Krankenhaus Festival held at haunted Muncaster Castle on the Lake District coast returns in 2027. Your tent is up before you arrive - just walk in and drop your bags.
"We have been bringing our own camping equipment from Canada to the UK to attend Krankenhaus Festival for the past 4 years. The offer of a glamping tent, already set up and waiting, was impossible to resist. We loved it. The tent was so spacious, and the air mattress so comfy and dry, they made a fabulous weekend even better! The staff was also super responsive. I'm hoping we can rent one next year too!"
"We booked the large Bell tent for krankenhaus 2026 and it was huge!! Max and the crew were really friendly and helpful, we had a couple of requests which they were happy to help us with, and their communication was great. The tents were big and comfortable and it was so nice to not have to take a tent down at the end of the festival!"
"We loved it! The tent was sturdy, waterproof and the beds were very comfortable."
Krankenhaus returns for 2027 and has sold out its limited capacity every year so far. We've pitched 1000s of bell tents at weddings, festivals and events across the UK.

Fresh water, hot showers and toilets are in the camping fields and at the Gateway Cafe, with more toilets at the Old Barn and Courtyard. Eco-friendly shower products only, please.
No vehicle access to the campsite. Park in the festival car park (sat nav CA18 1RD, just off the A595) - the campsite is no more than 400m away through the castle main gate. Weekend parking passes are sold by the festival.
Stick to the A595 - the festival's own advice is to ignore sat nav shortcuts over the fells. By rail: Ravenglass station is a short walk away, reached via Carlisle from the north or Lancaster/Preston from the south.
Tell us in the booking note who you'd like to be near and we'll do our best, though we can't guarantee it.
Festival ticket, warm layers, waterproofs and a power bank - there are no electric hook-ups on the campsite. Bedding only if you didn't add it to your booking.
Ravenglass is the national park's only coastal village, inside two UNESCO World Heritage sites. It's remote - sort lifts and supplies before you set off.
Luxury, Essentials or Unfurnished - 7m XL for groups of 5 or 6.
Memory foam, frames, airbeds, made-up bedding - only what you want.
Pay securely, get instant confirmation.
From midday Thursday 26 August. Your tent is already pitched - drop your kit, go find the castle.
Head off by 6pm Monday, or by midday Tuesday if you added the extra night. We handle the pack-down.
Step 1 of 5
This sets the base tent package. Beds, bedding and towels come next.
Step 2 of 5
We’ll update the running total and bed options after this.
Groups of 5 or 6 stay together in our 7m XL bell tent; pick 5 or 6 and we switch your tent over automatically.
Your setup so far
Each tent sleeps up to 4, so split four ways it's £55 to £75pp for all four nights, before beds. One tap sends the packages and booking link to your group chat.
No. The tent price buys the tent, pitched and waiting before you arrive, plus the styling on Luxury. Beds, bedding and towels are add-ons you choose in the booking: single airbed £15, double airbed £20, memory foam single mattress £35, bed frame £15, bedding set £20 per bed (double £40, king £55), towel pack £15 per person. Pick only what you want, or bring your own.
A micro-festival at Muncaster Castle brought to you by Sea Power, Muncaster Castle and friends - live music, talks, fell walks, birds of prey, steam trains and a full kids' programme on the western edge of the Lake District. 2027 runs Friday 27 to Sunday 29 August.
Four nights: arrive from midday Thursday 26 August, leave by 6pm Monday 30 August - the same window as the festival's general camping. One price for the tent, however many of those nights you use.
Yes, add the Monday night in the booking form for £35 per tent. It includes the festival's extra night camping pass, so don't buy that separately. You leave by midday Tuesday 31 August.
In the festival camping fields at Muncaster Castle, no more than 400m from the car park through the castle main gate.
Fresh water, hot showers and toilets are in the camping fields and at the Gateway Cafe, with further toilets at the Old Barn and Courtyard, plus an accessible toilet. The festival asks everyone to use eco-friendly shower products.
No - the festival has no electric hook-ups on site. Each tent has a battery camping light; bring a power bank for phones.
Krankenhaus itself is famously dog-friendly - dogs on leads in the arena, and there's even a best-of-fest dog competition. If you'd like a dog to stay in one of our tents, email [email protected] before booking so we can confirm the setup.
Very. Under-3s go free, there's usually a dedicated kids' programme, and festival tickets include free entry to Muncaster Castle, its gardens and the birds-of-prey flying displays.
By road, stick to the A595 - don't let sat nav send you over the fell roads. The car park is adjacent to the A595 at CA18 1RD. By rail, Ravenglass station is a short walk from the castle, reached via Carlisle from the north or Lancaster/Preston from the south, with local taxis for luggage.
There's no vehicle access to the campsite - the festival sells weekend parking passes for the car park, and campervans have their own field beside it (passes from the festival, no hook-ups). The walk from car park to campsite is 400m at most.
Our 5m bell tents sleep up to 4 people; the 7m XL sleeps up to 6. Strict limits for safety. Groups of 5 or 6 are switched to the XL automatically in the booking.
The XL package above is the 7m tent with the essentials setup at £350. A stripped-back empty 7m is £280 and the luxury-styled 7m is £390 - email [email protected] and we'll book either for you.
Late August on the Cumbrian coast can turn chilly and damp - pack for all weathers. Our tents zip fully shut, and a memory foam mattress plus made-up bedding beats any sleeping bag.
DJs typically run late into festival nights. The Luxury package welcome pack includes ear plugs and an eye mask.
Yes - a shared Essentials tent works out at £65 each for all four nights before add-ons. Two memory foam mattresses push together for couples.
Full refund if you cancel 14 or more days before the festival. No refund inside 14 days. Full T&Cs in your booking confirmation.
Full refund or transfer to another date.
Yes. Glamping is your accommodation, not your festival pass. Tickets are sold by the festival at krankenhausfestival.com - weekend tickets include general camping and free access to the castle and gardens.
Friday 20 August 2027, 7 days before the festival. Tents can sell out before that - Krankenhaus itself regularly does.
Line-up, tickets, travel and the full FAQ are on the official site: krankenhausfestival.com.
We run glamping villages at festivals, rallies, weddings and parties across the UK. We can build a booking page like this one so your guests book and pay us direct, or simply supply and pitch the tents.
